American Corner State Islamic University (UIN) Walisongo Semarang held a Seminar Study in the USA with the theme "Information and Consultation Session" offline in the campus library theater room 3, Wednesday (14/09/2022).

Muhammad Iqbal, Education USA Adviser, introduced EducationaUSA and opened a sharing session related to his experience of studying in the USA.

"EducationUSA is a department that aims to help international students to know more about campuses in the USA," said Iqbal.

EducationUSA is located in 6 regional distributions, namely:

1. Banda Aceh-EducationUSA UIN Ar-Raniry

2. Jakarta-MyAmerica Jakarta, U.S. Embassy of Jakarta

3. Jakarta-EducationUSA @america

4. Surabaya-EducationUSA Universitas Airlangga

5. Malang-EducationUSA Universitas Muhammadiyah

6. Makassar-EducationUSA Universitas Fajar Makassar

He explained several reasons why we had to study in the USA, one of which was because it could open up international students' views to become wider.

"There are several reasons "why it should be in the USA". First, the quality of education is different. Second, we can open a wider view of something, and there are many other reasons," said Iqbal.

Iqbal also explained that there are many reputable campuses in the USA which are divided into 3 tiers.

"The campuses in the USA are divided into three. First tier, second tier, and third tier. Each has different TOEFL score requirements," said Iqbal.

Iqbal said that when we study abroad, we can take advantage of the opportunity to introduce what characterizes us.

"When we are in abroad, this is the time for us to introduce what they rarely know. So, don't cover up your identity," said Iqbal.

As a closing, Iqbal advised to continue to think ahead, increase self-worth, and continue to explore anything.

"You are still young, you still have a long way to go. Think ahead, think broadly, and continue to add value to yourself," he concluded.
