SMP IT Cahaya Bangsa visited the American Corner of UIN Walisongo Semarang in the framework of School Visit with the theme Embark on a Journey to Boost Your English Confidence: Discover Your Voice Through Interactive Games. This event was held offline on Tuesday, 20 February 2024 at the American Corner UIN Walisongo building. The visit was attended by AmCor volunteers as hosts, 67 7th grade students of SMP IT Cahaya Bangsa, and 4 teachers of SMP IT Cahaya Bangsa. The event was opened by the Master og Ceremony (MC), followed by a speech and introduction of the American Corner by the director of the American Corner UIN Walisongo Semarang. The second speech was given by a representative from SMP IT Cahaya Bangsa. Before entering the main event, the MC asked the students some questions related to the theme of this event, which is speaking in English. Beside that, the MC also explained the technicalities of the event that would be held. Furthermore, the students were formed into 6 groups and each group had AmCor volunteers as facilitator. Each group will play games with the goal that students can enjoy and focus on learning English through fun games. In these games, students not only play games but also practice speaking English.. Students that participated actively in the group and dared to answer questions from the MC received door prizes. After the event, all participants and American Corner volunteers gathered for a photo session. By attending this School Visit event, hopefully the students would be able to increase their understanding of English and gain confidence in speaking English.
