Faith in Action : Youth Leaders Uniting for Environmental Stewardship



 

SEMARANG - Eco Peace with its partner Mubadalah.id and American Corner Semarang held a workshop themed “Religion and Environment for Youth Leaders.” The workshop was attended by students from various universities and communities in Semarang, Tuesday (24/9). This workshop is a form of concern for environmental issues interpreted from the perspective of various religions. The discussion session presented four highly competent speakers, including Hijroatul Maghfiroh as Founder of Eco Peace Indonesia, Kustiani as Lecturer at Syailendra Buddhist College, Andi Gunawan as Vice Chairman of Matakin Central Java, and Bagus Dwi Sukoco as Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia Semarang City. The important point in the discussion that has been done together is related to Youth Leader and Religious Campaign through Environmental Issues. This environmental awareness activity is carried out to raise the awareness of the younger generation about the importance of protecting and preserving the environment, and to raise the perspectives of various religions in Indonesia. The workshop will last for 3 days with an agenda of practice in creating content and writing interfaith environmental campaigns and was closed with a field trip to the Manggihan Village community in Semarang and Kampoeng Percik in Salatiga. This activity not only strengthens participants' commitment to the environment but can also create a spirit of interfaith collaboration. “We hope that through this activity, the younger generation as future leaders can better understand the importance of protecting the environment and make a difference through real action in accordance with the teachings of their religion,” Hijroatul Maghfiroh said.
